With just one or two yards of fabric and a few uninterrupted hours, you can create all kinds of custom decor.

Fabric is one of the hardest-working and most versatile decorating tools we have at our disposal.

Here is a quick, no-sew project that will have you adding pattern and color to your home like a pro.

Revamp an old chair with a fabric you love.

I especially like the eclectic look of this traditional-print fabric paired with a modern chair.

Here’s how to get the look…

What You’ll Need:

• A chair
• At least 1 yard of fabric
• Fabric scissors
• A staple gun
• Paint (optional)

How to  …

1. Begin by removing the seat from your chair.

If you plan on painting your chair, now is a good time to do it.

For maximum impact, choose a color present in your fabric.

2. Position the fabric on the seat in the desired position, and fold the extra fabric around to the back of the seat.

Secure with the staple gun, pulling the fabric taut as you go.

Tip: Spotlight your favorite part of the pattern by centering it on the seat.

3. Trim away excess fabric, and reattach the seat.
