Before & After: Faux Villa on Wall

When Ι start decorating a space, I ask from my clients to start collecting pictures of things they like.

Colors, fabrics, furniture and even theoretically irrelevant things about interior decoration.

Even if the picture is a belt’s buckle design, during the evolution of the project, inspiration can come from unrelated things.

The theoretically “irrelevant” belt buckle, can give me inspiration for the design of a fabric or a wallpaper or for the bindings of curtains or the napkin rings.

When the time comes to create, inspiration must be inexhaustible  to reach beyond the small reality and the results can be surprising.

Like Sheri who had this enormous retaining wall in her tiny backyard…

…and one day, she saw a picture of an Italian villa with bricks similar to her wall, and inspiration knocked!

So she answered by…

Creating this awesome faux villa.

It comes complete with a framed door (a $3.95 reject from Lowe’s that she painted to look like wood).

Windows made from scrap lumber and two layers screen, plus solar lights underneath so they look lit up at night, new landscaping, and even a door-knocker and a little flagstone path leading up to it!
